Teams:
Team Definition: All “school team”
members must have their primary enrollment in the same school. No combined
schools are allowed. A school is defined as the same building or connected
buildings under the same name. Home schooled players are allowed to form teams
under their local Home School Association of which their family is a member.
Those taking exception to this definition that regularly meet and play together
as a club will be allowed to compete as a “club team”, but not be eligible for
team awards. The Chief TD at a tournament will be the final ruling authority
regarding challenges to the above definition.
Team scores will be the total of the top 2 scores in a
section for players from the same team. There must be at last two players from
the same school to qualify for a team award.
Coaches must provide a complete team list for each section by 8:00 the day of
the tournament.
Rules:
Pairings are not team sensitive in the
last round, and may not be in earlier rounds for sections with heavy
representation from a single team.
The tournament will be run in
accordance with the USCF Official Rules of Chess.
The Tournament Director will be the
final authority regarding all rulings.
Only Oklahoma Students are eligible
for awards.
US Chess Federation membership
required (available with registration)
Equipment:
If you have a chess clock, please bring it to use in
the tournament.
Chess boards and sets will be provided.
Donations and Volunteers:
OSCO is a
non-profit organization run by volunteers who are interested in helping
Oklahoma's young people better succeed in life through participation in quality
chess activities. Volunteers are needed to help OSCO with it’s tournaments and
other scholastic chess related activities.
Donations to OSCO also are also an
excellent way to help Oklahoma’s youth through enhanced scholastic chess
opportunities. There are several levels of recognition for the various
contribution amounts, as described on the OSCO web site at www.okschess.org.
Donations can also be made anonymously. OSCO also encourages in-kind donations
of products or services directly helpful to OSCO, or to be given away at this
state tournament. In-kind donations will receive the same level of recognition
as cash contributions of the same value. All contributors of $50 or more will be
